Rodney's frustration

The concrete blocks prevent the porcupine from eating the roots so now he just bites off the leaves.

Palm fortress

Sorry Rodney but this one's not yours. (The leaves are bending to a gale-force wind - these palms are really strong.)

Father's Day Bonus

Spotted a coin on my lawn after family had been visiting the afternoon before. I gave it to my gardener.

Cellphone Art

My Sony Ericsson K850i has a 'Photo DJ'. Lots of fun when one has a few minutes to spare. This is Holly at 4 months. Can you see that he is sleeping?

Looks better now

My netbook power connector has a dry joint. I couldn't wait for the warranty to expire so I decided to void it prematurely. Hope I can get it to work again.

Porcupine droppings

Following the spoor I passed this evidence but then had to abandon my quest when I found that the trail entered the domain of my neighbour's dogs. You can watch a video of the porcupine, who I named Rodney, here.

The dreaded razor-barb

I accidentally let the back of my pull-over touch the barbed wire. Was following the trail of the porcupine.

Thorns. No problem.

These palm tree leaf stems sport two rows of strong sharp thorns. It takes a tough rodent to do this.

Look out

This was Holly's third emergency visit to the vet. The first two times he was bitten by a stray cat, but this time he tore open the skin by his knee all on his own. His six stitches come out in a week's time. Holly plays too rough. Holly - look out!
